Job Description: Laundry Attendant

Position: Laundry Attendant
Department: Housekeeping / Laundry
Location: On-Premises Laundry (OPL)
Reports to: Laundry Supervisor / Facility Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1. Washing & Cleaning

• Sort soiled linen, uniforms, towels, and guest laundry according to categories.

• Operate washer extractors, dryers, and other laundry equipment.

• Use correct detergents, chemicals, and wash formulas as instructed.

2. Drying & Ironing

• Dry linen at appropriate temperatures.

• Use pressing/ironing machines to ensure neat finishing.

• Follow the zero-damage policy.

3. Folding & Sorting

• Fold clean linen neatly.

• Sort linen by type, size, and usage.

• Store items in their designated locations.

4. Packing & Delivery

• Pack guest laundry properly.

• Deliver linen to the required departments (Rooms, Housekeeping, F&B) on time.

5. Machine Operation & Maintenance

• Perform basic daily cleaning and maintenance checks on machines.

• Report machine malfunctions or issues immediately to the supervisor.

6. Hygiene & Safety

• Maintain personal hygiene standards.

• Follow safety procedures and use PPE like gloves and masks.

• Keep the laundry area clean and well-organized.

7. Record Keeping

• Maintain daily wash load records.

• Prepare linen damage or missing reports.

• Update chemical usage logs.

Required Skills & Qualities:

• Basic knowledge of laundry operations

• Physical stamina and attention to detail

• Good teamwork and time management skills

• Discipline and cleanliness

• Basic reading and writing ability

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 10th pass (preferred)

• Previous laundry/housekeeping experience preferred but not mandatory

• On-the-job training will be provided

Work Environment:

• Long hours of standing

• Exposure to heat, steam, and chemicals
