Role Objective
To lead the housekeeping department in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, aesthetics, and guest comfort across all Jaglax Homes properties. The Manager will be responsible for operational efficiency, staff training, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Standards
Establish and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning, laundry, and room setups to ensure a consistent "luxury feel" across all sites.
Conduct regular, high-level inspections of all properties to ensure zero-defect quality.
Coordinate with the Front Office/Operations team regarding guest check-ins/check-outs to prioritize room cleaning.
2. Team Management & Training
Supervise Housekeeping Supervisors and ground staff.
Create monthly duty rosters, manage leave requests, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Conduct training modules for staff on advanced cleaning techniques, chemical safety, and Guest Service Etiquette.
3. Inventory & Budget Control
Manage the procurement of cleaning supplies, linens, guest amenities, and uniforms.
Maintain a strict inventory log to minimize wastage and control monthly departmental costs.
Oversee the laundry department (internal or outsourced) to ensure timely turnover of high-quality linens.
4. Guest Experience
Ensure that guest requests/complaints related to housekeeping are resolved within a 15-minute turnaround time.
Oversee the staff to ensure that Chai/Coffee and Basic Breakfast services meet hygiene and presentation standards.
5. Vendor & Maintenance Coordination
Liaise with external vendors for deep cleaning, pest control, and specialized AMC services (like marble polishing or upholstery cleaning).
Work closely with the Maintenance team to report and follow up on any civil or electrical repairs needed in the properties.
Requirements
Education: Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management is preferred.
Experience: 5–8 years in Housekeeping, with at least 2–3 years in a Managerial or Assistant Managerial role in a 4/5-star hotel or luxury villa rental company.
Skills: Strong leadership, eye for detail, and proficiency in MS Excel for inventory and roster tracking.
Communication: Fluent in English and Hindi (Knowledge of Konkani is a plus for managing local staff).
Mobility: Must have a vehicle to travel between various Jaglax Homes sites.
