A clinic housekeeping attendant is responsible for maintaining strict infection control, sanitation, and hygiene standards. They ensure all clinical areas, waiting rooms, and restrooms are safe, clean, and organised for both patients and medical staff.
Core Responsibilities
Sanitation & Infection Control
Disinfect surfaces: Regularly clean high-touch areas like doorknobs, handrails, waiting room chairs, and reception desks using medical-grade disinfectants.
Clinical areas: Sanitize consultation rooms, examination tables, and medical equipment surfaces following strict clinic protocols.
Waste Management
Hazardous disposal: Safely handle and dispose of biomedical waste, sharps, and biohazardous materials according to government regulations.
General trash: Empty trash cans and wastebaskets across all clinic areas throughout the day.
Facility Upkeep & Supply
Floors & surfaces: Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors, including hallways and exam rooms.
Restock supplies: Ensure restrooms and washrooms are continuously stocked with soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Inventory management: Track cleaning and sanitation supplies, notifying management when items need to be reordered.
