- To maintain sterile/ infection free environment in hospital premises.
- To maintain cleanliness and a germ free environment facilities that are constantly exposed to the spread of germs and diseases.
- Cleaning of all hospital areas, waiting rooms, Parking, offices of administrative staff and the restrooms.
- Making patients’ beds in hospital wards & ICUs.
- Clean and wipe windows, floors etc.
- Dispose of wastes in wastebaskets as well as clean the wastebaskets.
- Appropriately dispose of medical waste products like syringes, hand gloves, face mask etc.
- Dust furniture as well as equipment.
- Collect dirty clothes for appropriate washing.
- Assist in cleaning and disinfection of soiled linen, mattresses, etc.
- Change linen and ensure that all soiled or dirty linen is transported to the laundry.
- Appropriately distributes washed linen to patients.
- Promptly give spotlessly clean urinals and bed pan as and when required by patients.
- Assist nursing staff in collection of urine and stools specimens.
- Promptly attend to calls received from patient care areas, administrative and other areas.
- Wipe-out blood or other body fluids and then disinfect the area of contact.
- Use various types of cleaning equipment, like vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machine, etc.
- Transport trash to waste disposal areas.
