Tea Boy / Beverage Maker (Karupatti / Thati Bellam Coffee & Tea Maker)

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing and serving traditional beverages—specifically Karupatti/Thati Bellam (Palm Jaggery) Coffee, Tea, and Herbal Drinks—while maintaining exact recipes, taste consistency, speed, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Beverage Preparation: Brew traditional filter coffee, Jaggery/Bellam Tea, Karupatti Coffee, Sukku (Ginger) Coffee, and herbal decoctions using precise ratios to ensure taste consistency.

• Sweetener Handling: Accurately measure and dissolve palm jaggery (Thati Bellam / Karupatti) without curdling milk or spoiling the beverage balance.

• Customer Service & Counter Operations: Serve orders quickly and courteously during rush hours, maintaining an organized counter setup.

• Stock & Inventory Maintenance: Track inventory for milk, coffee powder, tea leaves, palm jaggery, cardamom, and spices, and notify management before stocks run low.

• Station Hygiene: Keep the decoction area, milk boilers, filter apparatus, and counter clean, organized, and sanitary at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience as a Tea Boy, Filter Coffee Maker, or Barista at a South Indian café/tea stall preferred.

• Skills: Knowledge of traditional filter coffee decoction techniques and milk temperature management.

• Attributes: Fast-paced, punctual, clean appearance, basic customer interaction skills, and ability to work under pressure during morning/evening rush hours.

2. Job Description: Cleaning Staff / Housekeeping & Kitchen Helper

Job Summary:

Responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across the outlet (counter, dining area, kitchen, and washrooms) while assisting beverage makers with basic prep work and washing.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Cleaning: Regularly sweep, mop, and sanitize floor areas, customer seating, counter tables, and high-touch surfaces.

• Dishwashing & Vessel Care: Clean brass/stainless steel coffee filters, boiling vessels, cups, glass tumblers, and serving trays immediately after use.

• Kitchen Assistance: Help prep ingredients (e.g., crushing ginger, cardamom, or jaggery blocks) and carry milk cans or supplies.

• Waste Management: Empty garbage bins continuously, segregate wet and dry waste, and maintain fresh waste disposal bags throughout the day.

• Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize washroom facilities at scheduled intervals to maintain hygiene standards.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: No formal education required; previous experience in restaurant/café housekeeping or cleaning is a plus.

• Skills: Knowledge of basic cleaning products, sanitization techniques, and safe handling of hot liquids/dishwashing.

• Attributes: High standard of personal hygiene, physical stamina for standing/moving, reliable, and teamwork-oriented
