Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Horticulturist with 2 to 6 years of hands-on expertise in plant management, soil health, landscape design implementation, and grounds maintenance. In this role, you will oversee plant care operations, manage routine landscape maintenance, diagnose plant diseases, and ensure optimal plant growth and health across commercial, residential, or agricultural environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Plant Care & Cultivation: Oversee the propagation, planting, pruning, fertilization, and general care of flowers, shrubs, trees, turfgrass, and indoor plants.

* Soil & Pest Management: Conduct routine soil testing and manage nutrient programs. Identify, monitor, and treat plant diseases, weeds, and insect infestations using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.

* Irrigation & System Supervision: Design, schedule, and maintain efficient irrigation programs, drip systems, and drainage networks to optimize water conservation.

* Landscape & Operations Maintenance: Supervise day-to-day nursery, garden, or campus maintenance activities to ensure high aesthetic and safety standards.

* Team Supervision & Safety: Lead and train grounds crew members, gardeners, and contract labor on proper horticulture techniques, safety procedures, and tool usage.

* Vendor & Inventory Management: Procure seeds, fertilizers, tools, and plant materials. Maintain accurate inventory records and manage supplier relationships.

* Project Support: Assist in selecting appropriate plant species for landscaping projects based on microclimates, soil conditions, and design requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

| Experience | 2 to 6 years of practical field experience in nursery management, commercial landscaping, agriculture, or botanical facilities. |

| Technical Skills | Strong knowledge of plant taxonomy, soil chemistry, IPM, turf management, and automated irrigation systems. |

| Certifications | Pesticide Applicator License, Certified Horticulturist (ISA, CPH, or equivalent regional certification) is a plus. |

| Soft Skills | Strong leadership, team management, communication, and problem-solving abilities. |

| Physical Demands | Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and handle physical tasks as needed. |
