Key responsibilities
Surface cleaning: Sweep, vacuum, mop, and dust floors, furniture, and other surfaces in offices, homes, or public spaces.
Sanitation: Disinfect high-touch areas, wash and scrub toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures to maintain hygiene standards.
Waste management: Empty trash and recycling bins, dispose of waste, and ensure receptacles are clean.
Supply management: Refill and restock consumables like soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. Track inventory and order new supplies as needed.
Minor maintenance: Perform basic repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaks, or unclogging sinks.
Specialized tasks: Depending on the setting, this could include cleaning windows, washing laundry, or performing deep cleaning and disinfection.
Adherence to safety: Follow health and safety guidelines, including using cleaning chemicals and equipment properly and maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
Skills
Ability to follow instructions and cleaning schedules.
Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Familiarity with using various cleaning agents and equipment.
Good physical stamina to perform tasks that can be physically demanding.
