Department: Infrastructure / Field Operations
Location: On-site & field-based (multiple sites)
Type: Full-time Internship (up to 6 months) · Office + Field
### About the Role
We are building and maintaining outdoor and on-site camera, networking, and relay systems across multiple locations. This is a hands-on, get-your-hands-dirty role for someone who enjoys both the technical side of networking and the physical, problem-solving reality of field installations. You will not be sitting at a desk all day — expect site visits, rooftops, weatherproof enclosures, cable runs, and live troubleshooting. If you like seeing a system go live because you wired it, configured it, and brought it online, this is for you.
### Eligibility
- Open to students currently pursuing a relevant degree/diploma and to recent graduates.
- Available to work full-time, on-site, for the internship duration.
- Able to start at short notice (we are hiring quickly).
### Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys to plan camera placement, network paths, power, and line-of-sight for wireless links.
- Physically install and mount IP cameras, enclosures, poles, brackets, and weatherproofing for outdoor conditions.
- Set up and configure networking hardware: routers, switches, PoE injectors/switches, access points, and signal relays/repeaters.
- Run, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, basic fiber familiarity); crimp connectors and dress cables cleanly.
- Configure IP addressing, DHCP, NAT/port forwarding, VLANs, and basic firewall rules for camera and network devices.
- Set up point-to-point / point-to-multipoint wireless links and optimize signal strength and stability.
- Configure cameras and NVR/VMS systems (ONVIF, RTSP), recording schedules, and remote access.
- Monitor system uptime, respond to connectivity drops, and troubleshoot issues remotely and on-site.
- Perform preventive maintenance, hardware swaps, and coordinate replacements/RMAs.
- Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, IP schemas, device inventories, and as-built records.
- Follow safety procedures for work at heights, basic electrical safety, and equipment handling.
### Required Skills & Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, IT, Networking, or a related field.
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and an understanding of VLANs.
- Familiarity with IP cameras / CCTV, NVR/DVR systems, and concepts like ONVIF and RTSP.
- Comfortable with physical, outdoor, and field work — including working at heights, in varying weather, and handling/lifting equipment.
- Hands-on aptitude with tools, cabling, and basic electrical work.
- A genuine troubleshooting mindset — you enjoy figuring out why something isn't working.
- Willingness to travel to sites; a valid two-wheeler / driving license is strongly preferred.
### Nice to Have
- Basic Linux command-line comfort and scripting (Python or Bash).
- Exposure to networking certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA fundamentals).
- Knowledge of wired / wireless networking and Tx/Rx alignments.
- Experience with VMS platforms or network monitoring/alerting tools.
### Physical & Practical Requirements (be aware before applying)
- This role involves regular outdoor work, climbing ladders/working at heights, and lifting equipment.
- Travel between sites within and around, is expected.
- This is not a remote or desk-only position.
### What We Offer
- Hands-on experience working on live, real-world projects from day one.
- Direct mentorship from experienced team members and close exposure to how the product/business actually runs.
- A fast learning curve and the chance to take real ownership.
- A monthly stipend of [Stipend Range].
- An internship completion certificate.
- A genuine path to a full-time role. Significant skill demonstration and a strong willingness to learn are heavily weighted in our decision to convert interns to full-time team members.
### What Matters Most to Us
We care more about capability and attitude than a perfect résumé. We look for:
- Real, demonstrable skills relevant to the role.
- A strong willingness to learn, adapt, and take feedback.
- Ownership, reliability, and follow-through.
If you are sharp and hungry to grow, we want to hear from you — even if you don't tick every single box.
