Job Summary:
We are hiring Field Service Engineers to perform on-site repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance for Dell laptops and desktops. You'll travel to client sites, troubleshoot hardware issues, and deliver high-quality fixes under tight SLAs. This role demands technical expertise, customer focus, and the ability to work independently in dynamic field environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site diagnostics and repairs for Dell laptops (e.g., Inspiron, Latitude, XPS) and desktops (e.g., OptiPlex, Precision) using Dell proprietary tools and parts.
Troubleshoot hardware faults including motherboards, screens, batteries, RAM, HDD/SSD, keyboards, and peripherals.
Perform hardware replacements, software imaging, BIOS updates, and preventive maintenance per Dell service guidelines.
Document all repairs in ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow or similar), update inventory, and report SLA compliance.
Interact with clients professionally, explaining issues and resolutions while minimizing disruptions.
Maintain a company vehicle, tools, and spare parts inventory for efficient field operations.
Collaborate with remote support teams and escalate complex issues as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Hands-on experience or certification in repairing Dell laptops and desktops (e.g., Dell Certified Technician).
Strong knowledge of Dell hardware architecture, diagnostics tools (e.g., Dell SupportAssist, ePSA), and common failure modes.
Proficiency in Windows OS installation, imaging tools (e.g., SCCM, Ghost), and basic networking.
