Job Description – Graphic Designer (Books & Magazines)

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing and formatting books, magazines, educational publications, and print-ready layouts using Adobe InDesign. The candidate should possess strong visual aesthetics, typography skills, and a deep understanding of publishing workflows and print production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop layouts for books, magazines, workbooks, catalogs, journals, and educational publications.

• Create visually appealing page compositions using Adobe InDesign.

• Handle complete publication formatting including:

  • Typography

  • Grid systems

  • Pagination

  • Master pages

  • Style sheets

  • Image placement

• Prepare print-ready files as per publishing and printing standards.

• Coordinate with content writers, editors, illustrators, and production teams for smooth execution of projects.

• Maintain consistency in branding, fonts, colors, and design language across publications.

• Perform image corrections and basic editing using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality design standards.

• Manage revisions and feedback efficiently.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Adobe InDesign (mandatory).

• Working knowledge of:

  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Adobe Illustrator

• Excellent understanding of:

  • Print production

  • Layout designing

  • Typography

  • Color theory

  • Pre-press processes

• Experience in designing:

  • Books

  • Magazines

  • Educational content

  • Publishing materials

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or related field.

• Experience in publishing houses, educational companies, printing industries, or magazine production will be preferred.

• Knowledge of Hindi and English publication layouts is an added advantage.
