Job Summary:
A DTP Book Formatter is responsible for formatting and designing book manuscripts to create a professional and print-ready layout. The role includes arranging text, images, tables, and page elements according to publishing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Format book manuscripts according to publishing guidelines.
Design and arrange page layouts, margins, headers, footers, and page numbers.
Apply consistent fonts, paragraph styles, and spacing throughout the book.
Insert and align images, tables, charts, and captions properly.
Prepare print-ready files and final PDF for publishing.
Proofread documents for formatting errors and layout issues.
Make corrections and revisions based on editor or client feedback.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of DTP tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and MS Word.
Understanding of book layout, typography, and formatting standards.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work with large documents and meet deadlines.
