Design Engineer – Automation / SPM

Qualification: B.E. Mechanical

Experience:

• Junior Level: 3–5 Years (Automation / SPM)

• Senior Level: 5–7 Years (Automation / SPM)

Software Skills:

• SolidWorks (Mandatory)

• MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT)

Job Summary

Responsible for design and development of automation systems and special purpose machines (SPM), including mechanical calculations, conveyor systems, and material handling solutions. The role involves concept development, detailed engineering, cross-functional coordination, and team management.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development

• Structural and sheet metal design with proper calculations

• Conveyor design (chain pull & load calculations)

• Automated material handling & storage system design

• Concept designing and product development

• Preparation of BOM

• 2D drafting and 3D modeling in SolidWorks

• Troubleshooting design-related issues

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Electrical, Software, and Project teams

• Ensure timely delivery of technically sound solutions

• Support prototype development, testing, verification, and validation

Process Improvement & Innovation

• Analyze workplace improvements and change management initiatives

• Research and implement energy-efficient and green design solutions

• Review drawings for practicality and efficiency

Team & Project Management (Senior Role)

• Lead and mentor design team

• Resource planning and project coordination

• Oversee mechanical & electrical testing

• Evaluate IP compliance and design validation

• Use data analysis for design validation and optimization
