Job Overview
We are looking for a creative and hands-on candidate to handle 2D design preparation, basic 3D modeling, and the operation of our CO2 laser cutting and engraving machine. The role involves creating new vector designs, modifying existing product files, nesting cut layouts, and managing daily cutting/engraving production for MDF, acrylic, and wood products.
Key Responsibilities
Create, trace, and edit 2D vector graphics and layouts for toys, puzzles, decor, and signage.
Prepare, adjust, and nest design files in software to optimize sheet usage and minimize material waste.
Operate a high-power CO2 laser cutting and engraving machine safely and efficiently.
Set and adjust machine parameters (speed, power, air assist, and focal distance) for different materials such as MDF, Birch Plywood, and Acrylic.
Inspect finished cut/engraved components for quality, fitment, and dimensional accuracy.
Perform routine daily machine maintenance, including cleaning optics (lenses and mirrors), laser bed clean-up, and monitoring chiller/exhaust systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CorelDraw, LightBurn, or LaserCAD/RDWorks. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or 3D modeling tools is a plus.
Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of vector files (.dxf, .ai, .cdr), line scoring, raster engraving, and kerf offsets for tab-and-slot interlocking joints.
Education: Minimum 12th Pass or ITI Diploma (Draftsman, CNC/Machinist, Graphic Design, or equivalent).
Experience: 0 to 2 years of practical experience operating CO2 laser cutting machines (Freshers with strong CorelDraw/LightBurn skills are welcome).
Work Style: Attention to detail, quick learner, and ability to handle physical workshop tasks alongside computer design work.
