JOB DESCRIPTION FOR RM:

A Relationship Manager in Insurance is responsible for managing client relationships, driving sales

of insurance products, ensuring customer satisfaction, and acting as a liaison between the client and

the insurance company. They play a key role in retaining policyholders and increasing cross-sell or

upsell opportunities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

� 1. Client Relationship Management

 Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients (individuals or businesses).

 Serve as the single point of contact for customer queries and policy-related concerns.

 Regularly follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and policy renewals.

� 2. Sales & Business Development

 Identify potential clients and generate leads through networking, referrals, and cold

calls.

 Promote and sell insurance products (life, health, auto, general, etc.) based on client

needs.

 Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth.

� 3. Policy Advisory

 Understand the specific needs of clients and recommend suitable insurance policies.

 Explain product features, benefits, and terms clearly and transparently.

 Help clients with premium calculations and policy comparisons.

� 4. Claims Assistance

 Guide clients through the claims process, ensuring all documentation is in order.

 Coordinate with claims and underwriting teams to ensure timely settlement.

 Address and resolve claims-related issues or grievances.

� 5. Renewal and Retention Management

 Monitor policy expiry dates and proactively reach out for renewals.

 Offer better plans or add-ons to retain customers and avoid lapses.

 Implement customer retention strategies for high-value clients.

� 6. Market Intelligence & Reporting

 Keep updated on new insurance products, competitors, and market trends.

 Gather client feedback and report it to management to improve products or services.

 Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales pipelines.

� 7. Compliance and Documentation

 Ensure all client interactions and transactions comply with IRDAI regulations.

 Assist clients in completing and submitting necessary forms and documents.
