The Business Development Manager will drive sales and business growth in the government sector for IT hardware and infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have prior experience handling government tenders, specification matching, vendor empanelment, and relationship management with government departments and system integrators.
Identify and pursue business opportunities in government departments, PSUs, and e-governance projects.
Manage end-to-end tender processes including documentation, compliance, and bid submissions.
Build strong relationships with government officials, consultants, and OEM partners, leveraging existing government connects.
Prepare proposals, quotations, and techno-commercial documents for government projects.
Work closely with the technical and procurement teams to match products with tender requirements.
Utilize basic knowledge of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal for bidding and product listing.
Ensure achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT hardware products, OEM pricing, and government procurement policies.
Graduate or related field (MBA or BBA preferred).
2–3 years of experience in government or institutional IT hardware sales.
Basic working knowledge of the GeM portal and other e-procurement platforms (CPPP, e-Procurement).
Established government connects and network to facilitate business development.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
