Field Sales Team Lead – MEC
Position Overview
The Field Sales Team Lead is responsible for driving paid merchant acquisition, achieving individual and team sales targets, and maintaining strong partner relationships. This role requires a dynamic leader who can motivate a field sales team, build scalable processes, and deliver exceptional value ("WOW") to customers. The Team Lead will ensure project requirements, deadlines, and objectives are met while fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Your Role at Large – Function Leadership
Lead by example and set high standards for professionalism, productivity, and quality of work.
Foster a culture of continuous learning; identify skill gaps and provide coaching and mentoring.
Serve as a mediator to resolve conflicts and maintain a harmonious work environment.
Collaborate with upper management to define team objectives aligned with organizational goals.
Allocate resources effectively to ensure smooth execution of all field sales activities.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and set improvement plans where needed.
Maintain clear communication across the team and with relevant departments.
Encourage proactive problem-solving and support the team in overcoming challenges.
Key Responsibilities
100% Field Sales: Perform consultative selling, conduct product demos, and close sales with retail businesses.
Ensure daily preparation before meeting prospects.
Manage on-ground sales executives selling paid subscription packages.
Lead hiring, training, performance management, and retention of sales executives.
Conduct daily meetings to ensure quality and quantity of sales inputs.
Manage and improve sales funnel, conversion metrics, and productivity.
Monitor key input KPIs (e.g., data quality, hot leads) to drive performance.
Implement incentive structures and promotions to motivate the team.
Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets as per SOP.
Ensure timely reporting in prescribed formats.
Achieve individual sales targets while enabling team members to achieve theirs.
Accompany executives on joint sales calls when required.
Qualifications
Graduate or Post-graduate in any discipline.
Minimum 4 years of total experience.
Minimum 2 years in a Team Lead role.
Preferred experience with: IndiaMART, TradeIndia, Sulekha, Quikr, Byju’s, MagicBricks.
