Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving business growth by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, leading sales initiatives, and achieving revenue targets. The role involves managing the business development process from lead generation to deal closure, mentoring the sales team, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction and retention.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve organizational growth and revenue objectives.
Identify and generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, industry events, digital platforms, and strategic partnerships.
Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key clients, decision-makers, and stakeholders.
Lead the end-to-end sales cycle, including prospecting, client meetings, presentations, proposal preparation, negotiations, and deal closure.
Monitor sales performance and ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities.
Collaborate with internal departments such as Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Support to ensure seamless service delivery.
Develop and maintain sales forecasts, pipeline reports, MIS reports, and CRM records.
Mentor, guide, and support Business Development Executives and sales team members to improve productivity and performance.
Ensure customer satisfaction through regular follow-ups, issue resolution, and relationship management to drive repeat business and referrals.
Participate in pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements with clients.
Represent the company at business meetings, exhibitions, conferences, and networking events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management preferred.
1–7 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management, or related functions.
Prior experience in team handling and revenue target management is preferred.
Experience in B2B sales, tele-sales, corporate sales, or client acquisition will be an added advantage.
