Core Job Responsibilities
Buyer & Vendor Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for international buyers, buying houses, fabric mills, and trim suppliers.
Sampling & Approvals: Coordinate the creation and submission of proto samples, fit samples, size sets, photo-shoot samples, and salesman samples, securing timely buyer sign-offs.
Sourcing & In-Housing: Sourcing fabrics, sewing threads, buttons, labels, and packaging materials, and tracking lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk raw material delivery.
Costing & Bill of Materials (BOM): Prepare detailed costing sheets (FOB, Ex-Factory, CMT), consume fabric calculations, and generate internal order sheets and BOMs from tech packs.
Time & Action (T&A) Calendar: Create and monitor the T&A calendar to ensure every stage—cutting, stitching, washing, finishing, and packing—stays on schedule. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Production & Pre-Production (PP) Meetings: Lead PP meetings with production, cutting, and quality assurance (QA) teams to brief them on buyer standards and potential workmanship risks.
Quality & Inspections: Coordinate internal inline/end-line checks as well as third-party or buyer quality audits.
Export Documentation & Shipping: Coordinate with freight forwarders, handle shipping instructions, and ensure compliance with export documentation requirements before final dispatch.
Key Requirements & Skills
Experience: Typically 2 to 6+ years in a garment export house or buying house (depending on Assistant, Executive, or Senior roles).
Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of woven/knit fabrics, garment construction, pattern making, wash types, and cost estimation.
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal/written English communication, negotiation ability, follow-up discipline, and proficiency in MS Office / ERP systems
