Job Description: Assistant Fashion Designer

Role Overview

Pinkseams is looking for a Junior / Assistant Fashion Designer with hands-on experience in working closely with tailors/masters. The candidate should have a strong understanding of garment construction, fittings, and production coordination, and be comfortable working in a boutique or studio setup.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with tailors/masters to execute designs accurately

Assist in pattern understanding, corrections, and fittings

Coordinate between design and production teams

Supervise garment trials and ensure proper finishing

Support in fabric selection, trims, and sourcing

Ensure designs are executed as per sketches and references

Maintain basic documentation of styles and measurements

Assist in day-to-day studio and production activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Diploma / Degree in Fashion Designing

Practical experience in a boutique or fashion studio

Good knowledge of fittings, garment construction, and tailoring

Ability to explain designs clearly to tailors

Basic knowledge of fabrics and measurements

Willingness to learn and work on the production floor

Attention to detail and strong coordination skills

Preferred Profile

Candidates who have completed internships in boutiques

Designers who have worked directly with masters/tailors

Freshers with strong practical exposure are welcome
