Electrician

1. Electrical Operations and Maintenance

• Operate and maintain hospital electrical systems including LT panels, DBs, wiring, lighting, and power outlets.

• Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical areas such as ICU, OT, ER, labs, and wards.

• Monitor electrical loads and prevent overloads or short circuits.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance as per schedule.

2. DG Set, UPS, and Power Backup Systems

• Operate and monitor DG sets during power failures.

• Ensure proper functioning of UPS systems for critical equipment.

• Maintain changeover systems (manual/automatic) for uninterrupted power supply.

• Coordinate fuel management and service schedules for DG sets.

3. Installation and Repair Works

• Install new electrical fixtures, switches, sockets, and lighting systems.

• Attend electrical breakdowns and rectify faults promptly.

• Repair or replace faulty cables, MCBs, MCCBs, relays, and electrical components.

• Support installation of new medical and non-medical equipment as required.

4. Electrical Safety and Compliance

• Ensure electrical safety standards are strictly followed across the hospital.

• Maintain proper earthing and lightning protection systems.

• Ensure use of safety PPE and follow lockout–tagout procedures.

• Support statutory inspections, fire safety, and NABH electrical compliance requirements.

5. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain daily electrical logbooks, DG running logs, and maintenance records.

• Record breakdowns, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.

• Maintain records for electrical load, power consumption, and safety checks.

• Assist in audits by providing required electrical documentation.

6. Coordination and Support

• Coordinate with biomedical, HVAC, and maintenance teams for smooth operations.

• Work closely with nursing and admin teams to address electrical requirements.

• Liaise with external vendors and service providers for major electrical works.

7. Emergency and On-Call Support

• Attend emergency electrical issues immediately, especially in critical care areas.

• Ensure quick restoration of power during outages or equipment failures.

• Support hospital disaster management and emergency preparedness plans.
