Job Responsibilities – Electrician (Utility & Maintenance)
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of all electrical equipment as per the maintenance schedule.
Perform routine preventive maintenance of Diesel Generator (DG) sets, including checking engine oil, coolant, battery, fuel level, filters, belts, alternator output, and control panel.
Monitor and maintain the plant power factor by operating and inspecting APFC panels and capacitor banks.
Inspect and maintain HT/LT panels, PCC panels, MCC panels, distribution boards, and electrical control panels.
Perform machine panel wiring, installation, modification, and troubleshooting of electrical circuits.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in motors, control panels, VFDs, contactors, overload relays, sensors, and other electrical components.
Carry out DOL starter, Star-Delta starter, and motor control wiring, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
Conduct daily utility inspections, including checks of generators, transformers, compressors, pumps, APFC panels, electrical parameters, and utility logs.
Monitor voltage, current, frequency, power factor, and load distribution to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Inspect and maintain single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, ensuring proper phase balancing and safe operation.
Ensure proper earthing, insulation resistance testing, and electrical safety compliance across the plant.
Tighten electrical connections, clean control panels, and replace damaged wiring and components as required.
Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime and ensure maximum equipment availability.
Maintain records of preventive maintenance, breakdown reports, electrical inspections, and spare parts consumption.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies while carrying out maintenance activities.
Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment and utility systems.
Maintain good housekeeping in electrical rooms, utility areas, and machine panels to ensure a safe working environment.
