Job Title: School Van Driver

Position Overview
The School Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. This role requires a high level of responsibility, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school van along assigned routes and schedules.

• Pick up and drop off students at designated locations on time.

• Ensure the safety of all passengers during loading, unloading, and transit.

• Maintain order and follow school behavior policies while students are in the vehicle.

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.

• Report any mechanical issues, incidents, or concerns to the transportation supervisor.

• Keep the van clean, organized, and in good operating condition.

• Follow all traffic laws, school rules, and safety regulations.

• Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff.

• Assist students with special needs or mobility challenges when necessary.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (CDL or local equivalent, if required).

• Clean driving record with no major violations.

• Previous experience driving groups or transporting children preferred.

• Strong understanding of road safety and defensive driving practices.

• Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive in various situations.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to pass required background checks, drug tests, and physical examinations.

Work Conditions

• Early morning and afternoon split shifts are common.
