Delivery Boy

The Delivery Boy cum Operation Theatre (OT) Assistant ensures the seamless operation of the surgical ward by managing both the clinical preparation of the theatre and the urgent logistical transport of vital medical items. This role requires a highly organized individual capable of working efficiently in a high-pressure, sterile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operation Theatre (OT) Support:

• Preparation: Help set up the operating room, ensure surgical trays are properly autoclaved, and arrange required instruments prior to surgery.

• Patient Transport: Assist in safely transferring, positioning, and preparing patients before and after surgical procedures.

• Clinical Assistance: Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operations by handing over required medical tools and supplies.

• Sterilization: Follow strict infection control protocols by cleaning and sterilizing surgical equipment and ensuring a safe, hygienic theatre environment.

Delivery & Logistical Tasks:

• Urgent Medical Transport: Safely and swiftly deliver urgent surgical implants between the OT, laboratories, and other hospital departments.

• Procurement: Coordinate with the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) and hospital pharmacy to fetch surgical kits, consumables, and emergency supplies.

• Equipment Retrieval: Collect unused implants, surgical devices, and instruments immediately after surgery to return them for inventory and sterilization.

• Documentation: Deliver patient files and surgery request slips, and obtain necessary signatures upon handing over materials.

Key Skills & Requirements

• Physical Stamina: The role involves standing for long periods in the OT and continuously moving around the hospital campus.

• Medical Knowledge: Basic understanding of surgical instruments, biomedical waste management, and infection control.

• Time Management: Ability to prioritize urgent deliveries without compromising OT protocol.

• Communication: Professional and clear coordination with senior technicians, doctors, and nursing staff.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Higher Secondary (10+2) or Graduation. A diploma or certification in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or Anesthesia is a strong advantage.

• Experience: freshers are welcome, 1 - 2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
