Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Sub-Editor to join our Print + Digital Desk team. The candidate will be responsible for editing, proofreading, translating, headline writing, and coordinating print as well as digital editorial operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong command over Gujarati language along with the ability to translate content from English and Hindi to Gujarati accurately. Experience in newsroom operations, print coordination, and digital publishing will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Edit and proofread news articles for clarity, accuracy, and consistency

Translate content from English & Hindi to Gujarati

Write attractive and effective headlines for print and digital platforms

Coordinate with reporters, editorial desk, and design team for smooth page production

Handle print page coordination and timely page release

Upload and format content on digital platforms/CMS

Repurpose print stories for digital publishing

Ensure editorial quality and newsroom deadlines are maintained

Requirements

1–3 years of experience as a Sub-Editor / Copy Editor in print or digital media

Strong command over Gujarati language (reading, writing & editing)

Proficiency in English and Hindi to Gujarati translation

Good knowledge of news editing, proofreading, and headline writing

Basic understanding of print newsroom workflow

Familiarity with digital publishing tools/CMS platforms

Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines

Qualification

Graduate in Journalism, Mass Communication, Commerce, or any relevant field

Diploma/Degree in Journalism or Mass Communication will be preferred

Preferred Skills

Understanding of SEO and digital content formatting

Experience in business, trade, or financial news will be an advantage

Good communication and coordination skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced newsroom environment
