Job Description – Bank Cashier / Teller
Job Title: Cashier / Teller – Banking Operations
Department: Branch Banking Operations
Industry: Banking & Financial Services
Job Location: As per Bank Requirements
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Cash Handling: Manage daily cash deposits, withdrawals, and cash transactions accurately.
Cash Verification: Verify currency notes, identify counterfeit notes, and maintain cash balances.
Customer Service: Assist customers with banking transactions, account-related queries, and service requests.
Transaction Processing: Process cash receipts, payments, fund transfers, and other authorized transactions.
Cash Reconciliation: Balance daily cash transactions and maintain accurate cash registers and reports.
KYC & Compliance: Follow RBI guidelines, KYC/AML regulations, and internal banking policies.
Banking Operations: Support cheque processing, account servicing, and other branch operations.
Cross-Selling: Identify customer requirements and refer suitable banking products such as savings accounts, fixed deposits, insurance, and mutual funds, subject to bank policies.
Security & Accuracy: Maintain confidentiality, prevent cash discrepancies, and follow banking security procedures.
Reporting: Report cash shortages, excess cash, suspicious transactions, and operational irregularities to the Branch Operations Manager.
Required Skills
Strong numerical and cash-handling skills
Basic knowledge of banking operations
Good communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of KYC, AML, and banking compliance
Computer proficiency and attention to detail
Honesty, integrity, and professional discipline
Educational Qualification
Graduate in any discipline, preferably B.Com, BBA, B.Sc, BA, or equivalent.
Preferred: Candidates trained in Banking Operations, Retail Banking, Cash Management, and KYC/AML.
