Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, honest, and detail-oriented Cashier to manage customer billing, handle cash and digital payments, and ensure accurate and smooth checkout operations at KC Hypermart.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & POS Operations

• Operate the billing software and barcode scanner accurately.

• Scan each product individually and verify its description, price, quantity, and MRP on the billing screen before proceeding to the next item.

• Select the correct product batch or MRP whenever multiple options appear.

• Ensure every product taken by the customer is billed correctly.

• Physically count billed items and match the quantity with the invoice before handing over the goods.

• Resolve barcode and pricing discrepancies with the supervisor instead of making unauthorized changes.

2. Cash & Digital Payment Handling

• Collect cash and provide the correct change.

• Verify UPI, card, and other digital payments before completing the transaction.

• Never accept payment screenshots as proof of payment; verify the transaction through the approved system.

• Maintain accurate cash records and report any shortage or excess immediately.

• Complete shift-end cash reconciliation and hand over the cash as per store procedures.

3. Customer Service

• Attend to customers politely, efficiently, and professionally.

• Prioritize the customer at the billing counter and avoid unnecessary delays.

• Answer basic queries about prices, offers, and billing.

• Escalate complaints, disputed prices, and exceptional requests to the supervisor.

• Ensure customers receive the correct bill and all their purchased items.

4. Billing Controls & Loss Prevention

• Never process unauthorized discounts, cancellations, refunds, or credit transactions.

• Do not share login credentials or allow unauthorized persons to operate the billing terminal.

• Report suspicious transactions, billing errors, and suspected stock or payment discrepancies immediately.

• Ensure every sale is recorded in the billing system.

5. Store Discipline & Coordination

• Keep the billing counter clean and organized.

• Coordinate with floor staff regarding product prices, barcodes, and availability.

• Follow all store SOPs and instructions from management.

• Report billing software or equipment issues promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 12th pass; prior cashier or retail billing experience preferred.

• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with POS/billing software.

• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.

• Honest, punctual, disciplined, and customer-oriented.

• Ability to handle cash responsibly and work accurately during busy hours.

• Basic Hindi communication skills; knowledge of English is an advantage.

Performance Expectations

• Accurate billing with minimal errors.

• Zero unauthorized discounts, cancellations, or payment confirmations.

• Accurate cash reconciliation at the end of each shift.

• Compliance with billing and item-counting SOPs.

• Professional customer handling and punctuality
