Senior Interior Designer

Job Description

Design House India Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and creative Senior Interior Designer with strong expertise in Retail Showrooms, Corporate Offices and Commercial Interior/Fit-Out Projects.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling a project from client requirement understanding and space planning to detailed working drawings, material selection and execution coordination.

We are specifically looking for a designer who understands not only aesthetics but also practical execution, dimensions, materials, services and site feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand client briefs, brand guidelines, functional requirements and project scope.

• Develop space planning, furniture layouts and interior concepts for retail showrooms, offices and commercial spaces.

• Prepare detailed AutoCAD working drawings and execution drawings.

• Prepare floor plans, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, electrical layouts, elevations, sections and detailed drawings.

• Develop detailed joinery/furniture drawings for production and site execution.

• Coordinate designs with electrical, HVAC, lighting, signage and other services.

• Conduct site visits and verify actual measurements before finalizing drawings.

• Coordinate with clients for design discussions, presentations, modifications and approvals.

• Select appropriate materials, finishes, laminates, veneers, flooring, lighting, hardware and other interior elements.

• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, vendors and production teams.

• Resolve design-related issues arising during execution.

• Ensure that approved designs are practical, executable and within project requirements.

• Review drawings before releasing them for production/site execution.

• Maintain drawing revisions and ensure the latest approved drawings are being followed.

• Support timely project completion through effective design and execution coordination.

Must-Have Experience

Candidates should have 4–7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in:

Retail Interiors | Showroom Design | Corporate Offices | Commercial Interiors | Turnkey Fit-Out Companies | Architecture & Interior Design Firms

Candidates whose experience is primarily in residential interiors only may not be suitable for this position.

Qualification

B.Arch / B.Des / Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture

Software Skills

Strong working knowledge of:

AutoCAD – Mandatory

Knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray/Corona, Photoshop or similar visualization software will be an advantage.

However, priority will be given to candidates with excellent planning and technical working-drawing capabilities, rather than only 3D visualization skills.
