Modular Kitchen Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Modular Steel Kitchen & Furniture Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing modular steel kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, and furniture. The role will require expertise in product design, material selection, and the application of manufacturing technologies such as CNC machining, laser cutting, and welding. The candidate will work closely with the design and production teams to ensure the designs are aesthetically appealing, functional, and easy to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Design Modular Steel Kitchens and Furniture: Create innovative and efficient designs for modular steel kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, and other furniture pieces using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).

·  Material Selection: Select high-quality materials suitable for steel furniture and modular kitchen products, ensuring durability, aesthetic appeal, and cost-effectiveness.

·  Manufacturing Process Integration: Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable using technologies such as CNC machines, laser cutting, welding, and powder coating.

·  Custom Design Solutions: Create customized designs based on client requirements while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.

·  3D Modeling and Technical Drawings: Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings, including dimensions, specifications, and assembly instructions.

·  Prototyping and Testing: Coordinate with the production team to create prototypes and conduct testing to validate product functionality, structural integrity, and design appeal.

·  Cost Analysis and Optimization: Analyze design costs and suggest optimizations to ensure products are manufactured within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

·  Quality Control: Ensure designs meet safety and quality standards. Work with quality control teams to identify and rectify design or manufacturing issues.

·  Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, sales, and production teams to ensure designs meet customer expectations and align with manufacturing capabilities.

·  Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve the design and production processes.

·  Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and building codes (e.g., ISO, UL).

Qualifications and Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

·  Proven experience (3+ years) in designing modular furniture, including kitchens, wardrobes, and vanities, with a focus on steel fabrication.

·  Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools) for 3D modeling and creating detailed technical drawings.

·  Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, including CNC machining, laser cutting, welding, and powder coating processes.

·  Experience with modular design principles and an understanding of ergonomics, aesthetics, and functionality in kitchen and furniture design.

·  Knowledge of material properties (steel, MDF, wood, etc.) and selection for different types of modular furniture.

·  Ability to produce assembly instructions, manufacturing documentation, and cost estimates.

·  Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues.

·  Good communication skills and the ability to work well within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

·  Experience with 3D rendering and visualization tools to present design concepts.

·  Familiarity with furniture manufacturing processes and equipment such as CNC routers and laser cutting machines.

·  Knowledge of industry certifications and standards related to modular furniture (e.g., ISO, UL).

·  Experience working in a fast-paced, project-based environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple designs simultaneously.
