Responsible for providing MEP design inputs, reviewing and validating HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection system designs, ensuring code compliance and coordination with other disciplines, and granting technical approval of construction-ready drawings, specifications, and material submittals.
1. Conceptual & Schematic Stage
· Provide MEP Design Inputs during the concept and schematic stages, ensuring alignment with architectural, structural, and MEP teams.
· Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers, and Clients to gather requirements and define design parameters.
2. Design Development Stage
· Review and validate MEP system designs (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting) for technical accuracy and compliance with relevant codes.
· Check and approve:
o Load calculations
o System sizing
o Equipment selection
o Routing layouts
· Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards (NBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IS/IEC), and client specifications.
3. Detailed Design & Coordination
· Conduct MEP design coordination with all disciplines to resolve overlaps and service conflicts.
· Perform clash detection using CAD/BIM platforms to ensure coordinated service routing.
· Approve design drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications for all MEP systems.
4. Tendering & Costing Stage
· Prepare or review MEP tender documentation / Support the technical clarification process during tendering.
· Provide budgetary cost estimation for all MEP systems.
5. Execution Support
· Provide technical support and clarification to contractors and site teams during execution.
· Monitoring and coordinating site design validation visits to ensure actual works match the approved design.
6. Documentation & Handover
· Maintain comprehensive design logs, approval records.
· Assist in final design handover and MEP system commissioning checks.
