Civil Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE

Megabase Infratech Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a responsible and experienced Civil Supervisor to oversee day-to-day construction activities at project sites.

The candidate will be responsible for supervising site execution, coordinating with contractors and labour teams, monitoring construction quality and progress, maintaining site records, and submitting daily site progress reports to management.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of civil construction and be capable of independently handling routine site supervision and coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Daily Site Supervision

• Monitor all day-to-day civil construction activities at the project site.

• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.

• Supervise labour, contractors, subcontractors and site workers.

• Allocate and coordinate daily work activities with the site team.

• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, materials and equipment.

2. Construction Work Monitoring

• Monitor activities such as:

  • Excavation and earthwork

  • PCC and RCC work

  • Foundation work

  • Brick/block masonry

  • Plastering

  • Flooring

  • Shuttering/formwork

  • Reinforcement/steel work

  • Waterproofing

  • Drainage and related civil works

  • Other construction and finishing activities

• Check dimensions, levels, alignment and workmanship during execution.

• Identify construction issues and coordinate with the concerned team for timely resolution.

3. Quality Control

• Ensure construction work meets required quality standards.

• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship used at site.

• Ensure proper curing, reinforcement placement, concrete work, masonry and other construction processes.

• Immediately report defects, deviations or quality issues to the Project Engineer / Project Manager.

4. Contractor & Labour Coordination

• Coordinate with civil contractors, subcontractors and labour teams.

• Track daily manpower deployment.

• Monitor productivity and work progress.

• Ensure contractors complete assigned activities within the planned timelines.

• Maintain proper coordination between different site teams.

5. Material Monitoring

• Monitor daily requirement and consumption of construction materials.

• Check material availability at site and inform management about upcoming requirements.

• Assist in checking received materials against required specifications and quantities.

• Minimize material wastage and ensure proper storage at the site.

6. Site Measurement & Documentation

• Assist in taking measurements of completed work.

• Maintain daily work records and site registers.

• Record manpower, material consumption, work progress and site activities.

• Maintain basic documentation related to construction execution.

• Verify completed work before reporting it as completed.

7. Daily Progress Reporting

The Civil Supervisor will be required to submit a Daily Site Progress Report (DPR) to management, preferably every evening.

The report should include:

• Work completed during the day

• Work in progress

• Manpower deployed

• Materials received/consumed

• Equipment deployed

• Contractor/subcontractor status

• Site photographs

• Work planned for the next day

• Delays or problems encountered

• Quality or safety issues

• Any requirement or support needed from management

8. Safety & Site Discipline

• Ensure workers follow basic construction-site safety practices.

• Report unsafe conditions, accidents or potential hazards immediately.

• Ensure proper use of PPE wherever required.

• Maintain general site discipline and housekeeping.

• Coordinate with the safety/site management team regarding safety requirements.

9. Progress & Timeline Monitoring

• Compare actual site progress with the project schedule.

• Identify delays and communicate them to the Project Engineer / Project Manager.

• Follow up with contractors to ensure timely completion of assigned activities.

• Help maintain project timelines and daily execution targets.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

The candidate should have:

• Strong practical knowledge of civil construction.

• Good understanding of construction drawings and basic site measurements.

• Knowledge of RCC, PCC, reinforcement, shuttering, masonry, plastering and finishing works.

• Ability to supervise contractors and labour teams.

• Basic knowledge of quantity measurement and material estimation.

• Good understanding of construction quality standards.

• Ability to identify site-level technical and execution issues.

• Good reporting and documentation skills.

• Basic knowledge of MS Excel / Word for preparing daily reports.

• Ability to take and share clear site photographs and progress updates.

• Strong communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work independently at construction sites.

QUALIFICATION

Preferred:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering

• ITI / relevant technical qualification with strong practical civil construction experience

Candidates with strong hands-on construction experience and relevant technical knowledge may also be considered.

EXPERIENCE

Preferred Experience: 2–5 years in civil construction / site supervision.

Candidates with experience in:

• Residential construction

• Commercial construction

• Industrial construction

• Infrastructure projects

• Civil contracting

• Building construction

• Turnkey construction projects

will be preferred.

REPORTING

Reports To: Project Manager / Project Engineer / Senior Management

The Civil Supervisor will be responsible for providing regular updates regarding site progress, manpower, material, quality, delays, issues and daily construction activities.

KEY PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The selected candidate will be expected to:

• Maintain effective daily site supervision.

• Ensure construction work is executed as per drawings and specifications.

• Maintain required quality standards.

• Keep projects on schedule.

• Ensure proper contractor and labour coordination.

• Minimize material wastage.

• Maintain accurate daily site records.

• Submit the Daily Progress Report on time.

• Immediately escalate major construction, quality, safety or schedule-related issues.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a hands-on Civil Supervisor, not just someone with a civil qualification. The candidate should be comfortable being present at the construction site, supervising actual execution, coordinating with workers and contractors, identifying problems and providing management with accurate daily updates.

Practical site experience + technical civil knowledge + discipline + reporting ability will be key criteria for selection.
