Job Title

Civil Engineer (Railways)

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering

Experience

5-7 years, experience in alignment designing of Railway projects will be preferred

Reporting to

Director

Objective of the Role:

To design the highway/railway alignment with high quality, safety regulations, codal provisions, and optimal cost.

Major Responsibilities:

• Feasibility studies to assess potential route options for highways or railway projects

• Develop detailed design plans

• Designing geometric elements such as horizontal and vertical curves

• optimize the alignment to minimize construction costs, environmental impact, and operational challenges

• Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines such as civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering to integrate alignment design with other project components

• Preparation and checking of Project sheets/Plan & Profile drawings

• Preparation and checking of Yard Plans

• Interaction with client/owner & proof consultants, site engineers

• Visiting construction sites to resolve the problems if any.

• Understanding client requirements and interfacing between client and departments within the organization.

• Understanding project details, preparing project schedules, and updating the schedule as it evolves.

• Billing and follow-ups for collection if required.

• Site visit pertaining to design work.

Technical Skill Set Required to be acquired:

• Good understanding of civil engineering.

• Gaining knowledge related to construction material and its properties.

• Understanding different analysis methods/design methods.

· Well familiar with software applications like Civil 3D/Bentley Road Suite/Power Track, AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office, and other analysis software.
