Job Title: Payroll Lead

The Payroll Lead will be responsible for end-to-end payroll management, ensuring accurate and timely salary processing, statutory compliance, and alignment with internal accounting and financial controls. The role requires close coordination with HR, Finance, and external vendors to maintain compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for all employees on a monthly basis
Ensure accurate calculation and processing of salaries, overtime, incentives, deductions, and reimbursements
Handle statutory compliances including PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, and other applicable payroll taxes
Manage income tax computations, TDS deductions, challans, and quarterly/yearly returns
Coordinate with external payroll vendors and tax consultants, as required
Maintain and reconcile payroll records with general ledger and internal accounting systems
Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to payroll and employee costs
Prepare payroll-related MIS reports, reconciliations, and management dashboards
Address employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll documentation
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
5+ years of experience in payroll processing and payroll accounting
Strong knowledge of Indian payroll laws, taxation, PF, ESI, and statutory compliances
Hands-on experience with payroll systems and ERP/accounting software
High attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in managing payroll for mid to large-sized organizations
Prior experience in internal accounting and payroll-related financial reporting.
