Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. The
role will be responsible for designing and implementing robust costing systems, monitoring cost
efficiencies across procurement, refurbishment, and distribution, and ensuring accurate allocation of
expenses to inventory and COGS. This position is critical in supporting pricing decisions, margin
analysis, and overall financial performance of the Company.
Key Responsibilities
Costing & Financial Control
•
Develop and maintain standard cost models for laptops, desktops, and accessories.
•
Implement processes for accurate allocation of direct and indirect costs to inventory and
finished goods.
•
Perform variance analysis (budget vs. actual) on costs, margins, and operational KPIs.
•
Conduct periodic cost audits across refurbishment, warehousing, and logistics functions.
Inventory & Operations Accounting
• Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to validate bill of materials (BOMs),
refurbishment costs, and wastage controls.
•
Reconcile inventory valuation in ERP with financial books on a monthly basis.
•
Monitor slow-moving and obsolete stock, recommending provisions/write-offs where
necessary.
Management Reporting & Decision Support
•
Provide product-level margin reports to support pricing strategies for D2C, B2B, Education,
and Retail channels.
•
Support the CFO in preparing management representation letters (MRLs), board notes, and
investor communications relating to COGS, margins, and working capital.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and unit economics
dashboards.
Compliance & Internal Controls
•
Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, SEBI LODR requirements, and Cost Audit Rules
(if applicable).•
Design and maintain internal financial controls (IFC) relating to cost accounting and
inventory management.
•
Support statutory and internal auditors with cost records, reconciliations, and audit
schedules.
Qualifications & Experience
•
Educational Qualification: CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) qualified
•
Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably in
manufacturing, refurbishment, or electronics sector.
•
Strong knowledge of costing standards, inventory valuation methods (FIFO/Weighted
Average), and cost audit compliance.
•
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably ERPNext/Oracle/SAP) and advanced MS
Excel/Google Sheets.
•
Exposure to listed company reporting will be an added advantage.
