About the Company

Prasan Techno Private Limited provides engineering solutions in electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, water treatment and solar energy. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in rooftop solar system design, installation, testing and commissioning.

Job Responsibilities

1. Solar System Design

• Design residential, commercial and industrial rooftop solar PV systems.

• Calculate solar system capacity based on electricity consumption and customer requirements.

• Prepare solar layouts, shadow analysis, module placement and string configurations.

• Select suitable solar panels, inverters, cables, protection devices and mounting structures.

• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), BOQs, technical proposals and cost estimates.

• Perform cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations, earthing design and protection coordination.

• Use solar design tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, OpenSolar or equivalent software.

2. Solar Installation & Project Execution

• Supervise rooftop solar panel installation, mounting structures and inverter installation.

• Ensure proper DC and AC cabling, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection and safety compliance.

• Coordinate installation technicians, subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel.

• Conduct site surveys, roof measurements and feasibility assessments.

• Ensure projects are completed within the approved budget, schedule and quality requirements.

3. Testing & Commissioning

• Perform pre-commissioning inspections and electrical safety checks.

• Verify polarity, string voltage, insulation resistance, earthing and inverter operation.

• Support grid synchronization, net-metering procedures and utility inspections.

• Troubleshoot solar generation issues, inverter faults and electrical problems.

• Prepare commissioning reports, test records and handover documents.

4. Customer & Project Coordination

• Explain system operation, expected generation and maintenance requirements to customers.

• Coordinate with customers and relevant authorities for approvals and inspections.

• Support preparation of quotations, material procurement and project progress reports.

• Provide technical support and after-sales service when required.

Eligibility & Required Skills

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in solar PV design and installation.

• Practical knowledge of on-grid rooftop solar systems and three-phase electrical installations.

• Familiarity with solar modules, string inverters, hybrid inverters, DCDB, ACDB, SPD, MCB/MCCB and earthing systems.

• Knowledge of Tamil Nadu electricity utility procedures and net metering is preferred.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and at least one solar design software.

• Ability to prepare SLDs, BOQs, material lists and technical quotations.

• Good communication, site coordination and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MNRE-approved/DCR modules and PM Surya Ghar rooftop solar projects.

• Familiarity with TNPDCL/TANGEDCO procedures, as applicable.

• Experience with Solis or other string inverters.

• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, commissioning procedures and preventive maintenance.

• Valid two-wheeler driving licence is an advantage.
