Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Field Engineer who can independently handle site operations, mobilize skilled manpower, and ensure timely execution of maintenance activities across multiple client locations.
The primary responsibility of this role is manpower management and site execution. While technical knowledge of electrical systems is essential, the candidate must have a strong network of electricians, technicians, helpers, and subcontractors and should be capable of arranging manpower at short notice based on project requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess leadership skills, client-handling experience, and the ability to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of work.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute Operations & Maintenance activities at client sites.
Arrange, mobilize, and deploy skilled electricians, technicians, helpers, and subcontractors as per site requirements.
Maintain a reliable network of manpower agencies, contractors, and skilled workers for urgent deployment.
Lead and supervise field teams to ensure smooth execution of work.
Allocate daily work, monitor productivity, and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, vendors, and internal teams for seamless project execution.
Handle preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems.
Supervise electrical installation works including cable laying, cable termination, panel wiring, testing, and commissioning.
Monitor maintenance of HT/LT panels, PCC, MCC, APFC panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS, switchgear, and distribution systems.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and technical documents.
Maintain daily work reports, attendance records, manpower deployment reports, and service reports.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of PPE.
Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns by arranging manpower and restoring operations with minimal downtime.
Maintain site tools, equipment, and material inventory.
Required Skills
Mandatory
Strong ability to arrange and mobilize manpower for multiple project sites.
Existing network of electricians, technicians, helpers, and subcontractors is highly preferred.
Proven experience in handling site teams independently.
Strong leadership and workforce management skills.
Good client coordination and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Experience preparing daily reports and coordinating multiple sites.
Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
Electrical installation and maintenance.
HT/LT systems.
PCC, MCC, APFC panels.
DG Sets, UPS, Transformers.
Switchgear and Distribution Boards.
Cable laying and termination.
Testing using Multimeter, Clamp Meter, Megger, and Earth Tester.
Basic understanding of PLC, VFD, and Control Panels.
Note: Technical expertise is desirable; however, candidates with strong manpower sourcing, workforce management, and site execution capabilities will be given higher preference.
Qualification
ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering / B.E. Electrical.
Valid two-wheeler driving licence preferred.
Willingness to travel extensively across Bangalore and nearby project locations.
