Network Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a technically skilled L2 NOC Engineer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in network configuration and troubleshooting. The candidate should have practical production experience with Huawei switches and Syrotech/SecureEdge GPON/EPON OLT platforms. The role will handle L2 escalations, broadband/FTTH circuit provisioning, and routing and switching optimization in a 24x7 Network Operations Center.

Key Responsibilities

 Multi-Vendor OLT Provisioning: Configure, map profiles, and deploy Syrotech and SecureEdge GPON/EPON OLTs, along with Huawei SmartAX platforms.

 FTTx Circuit Management: Configure DBA, Line, and Service profiles; VLAN bindings; and T-CONT/GEM ports. Diagnose optical link issues, high attenuation, and rogue ONT/ONU problems.

 Huawei Switching & Routing: Perform provisioning, CLI configuration, and port optimization on Huawei S-Series switches and enterprise routers using Huawei VRP CLI.

 Incident Escalation: Resolve L1-escalated network incidents as the Tier-2 point of contact. Troubleshoot switching loops, fiber link drops, and routing mismatches within SLAs.

 Network Infrastructure Changes: Schedule and perform network updates, configuration backups, VLAN changes, and routine firmware upgrades during maintenance windows.

 Performance Monitoring: Monitor network stability, link utilization, and optical signal levels using Huawei eSight, Syrotech/SecureEdge EMS platforms, and SNMP tools.

Technical Skills & Core Competencies

 GPON/EPON: OLT and ONT/ONU configuration on Syrotech, SecureEdge, and Huawei platforms; optical budget validation and split-ratio analysis.

 Switching: Huawei VRP, Huawei S-Series switches, NE/AR enterprise routers; VLANs, QinQ, inter-VLAN routing, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, and loop protection.

 Routing: OSPF, BGP fundamentals, static routing, VRRP gateway redundancy, and Policy-Based Routing (PBR).

 Protocols & Tools: PPPoE, IPoE, DHCP Option 82, ACLs, Wireshark packet capture, NMS/EMS, and SNMP monitoring.
