Network Engineer Colt provides network, voice and data centre services to thousands of businesses around the world, allowing them to focus on delivering their business goals instead of the underlying infrastructure. Why we need this role Engineer of Node Support & End of life will be responsible for planning, provisioning and routing the circuits against customer contracts, while coordinating with various Service Delivery Teams, remotely configuring the network elements, performing various tests like – continuity test, switching test, loop test, insertion of network element, removal of network element and troubleshooting of services while delivering in co-ordination with field engineers over COLT’s SDH / DWDM / OTN / MSP / Ethernet / Net Cracker/New Generation based Networks. #LI-DNI What you will do The Network Engineer performs key network engineering activities to contribute to the design, development and implementation of Colt's network. They will also conduct troubleshooting and testing on the network to ensure network reliability and to resolve faults. What we're looking for Typical tasks and responsibilities will include: The ideal candidate with 8-12 years of relevant industry experience in Provisioning/Planning / Installations & commissioning / Testing / NOC environment (on SDH, DWDM, OTN, ATM, EoSDH), and having practical experience of Bandwidth provisioning and testing . Knowledge on OTN, MSP & NGN technologies will be preferred. Good knowledge of Transmission, Fiber Optics, SDH / OTN / DWDM / Ethernet / EoSDH / EoMSP / ATM principles, Packet technologies, SDN, NFV etc. Good knowledge on various testers (like SUNRISE, ACTERNA, ANT-5, ANT-20 etc.) used for testing of transmission links. Good knowledge of various interface used to deliver Ethernet, Voice and IP & SDWAN based circuits on transmission network. Knowledge of LAN principles and practices. Knowledge on OTN technologies & hands-on on Ciena 6500 would be desirable. Excellent customer facing skills and communication skills. Good time management skills Good working knowledge on MS – Office (Word, PPT & Excel) and other tools used for day 2 day administrative tasks. What we offer you: Looking to make a mark?
