Key Responsibilities
Component-Level Diagnostics: Inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) of networking gear to identify burnt, faulty, or failing micro-components.
Advanced Micro-Soldering: Solder and desolder surface-mount devices (SMD), ball grid arrays (BGA), and integrated circuits (ICs) like power ICs or network controllers.
Schematic Analysis: Read and interpret complex electronic circuit diagrams, datasheets, and PCB layout blueprints to trace voltage paths.
Equipment Testing: Utilize oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, DC power supplies, and logic analyzers to test hardware signals and power rails.
Firmware Flashing: Program and flash EEPROM, eMMC, or BIOS chips on network devices using specialized IC programmers.
Network Troubleshooting: Run software diagnostics using tools like Wireshark, Ping, or Traceroute to ensure hardware repairs successfully restored network performance.
