Job Description: IT Infrastructure Engineer

Position Summary

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, hardware, and end-user devices. The role ensures high availability, security, and optimal performance of all IT infrastructure while providing technical support and implementing infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization's LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity.

• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.

• Administer Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file servers, and virtualization platforms.

• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, biometric devices, and other IT hardware.

• Perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

• Monitor infrastructure performance and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.

• Manage server backups, disaster recovery processes, and business continuity planning.

• Implement and maintain network security, endpoint protection, firewall policies, and antivirus solutions.

• Troubleshoot hardware, network, and system issues, providing timely resolution.

• Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, warranty claims, and technical support.

• Maintain IT asset inventory, software licenses, and infrastructure documentation.

• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansion projects.

• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and organizational standards.

• Provide technical support to end users for infrastructure-related issues.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance IT operations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.

• Experience with Cisco, HP, Aruba, Fortinet, Sophos, or similar networking technologies.

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and backup solutions.

• Knowledge of firewall configuration, network security, and endpoint management.

• Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and other IT hardware.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

• It is a Full Time Hardware / Network Engineer job for candidates with 3 - 6+ years Experience.
