Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission gondola and suspended platform systems.

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on gondolas, BMUs, cradles, hoists, motors, wire ropes, and safety devices.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in gondola systems.

• Inspect safety mechanisms including limit switches, overload systems, brakes, and emergency lowering systems.

• Replace damaged or worn components such as wire ropes, motors, control panels, rollers, and electrical parts.

• Conduct load testing and operational testing of suspended access equipment.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, permits, and work-at-height procedures.

• Maintain service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.

• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and building management teams.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support on-site.

• Follow company safety procedures and use PPE at all times.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of suspended access systems and gondola operations.

• Understanding of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

• Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

• Familiarity with work-at-height safety standards.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering preferred.

• Certification in work-at-height or suspended platform operation is an advantage.

• Experience with BMU, cradle, or facade access systems preferred.

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in gondola maintenance, facade access equipment, or related field.

Working Conditions

• Work at heights on high-rise buildings.

• Outdoor and construction site environment.

• May require overtime or emergency call-outs.

Preferred Certifications

• Work at Height Certification

• Electrical Safety Certification

• Rope Access / IRATA Certification (preferred)
