Job Summary
We are looking for a technically strong CCTV, Hardware, Networking & Project Engineer responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and project execution of IP CCTV cameras, surveillance systems, networking infrastructure, embedded systems, fibre-optic networks, HHMD, DFMD and other electronic security systems.
The candidate should be capable of handling projects independently, coordinating with clients and site teams, and resolving hardware, software, networking, and field-level technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
1. CCTV & Surveillance Systems
Installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of IP CCTV cameras and surveillance systems.
Configure and troubleshoot NVRs, VMS, video management systems, storage, monitors and control-room equipment.
Work with IP cameras including fixed, dome, bullet, PTZ and other network-based surveillance cameras.
Configure camera IP addresses, recording parameters, user permissions, remote viewing and system integration.
Perform camera alignment, focusing, testing and preventive maintenance.
Diagnose issues related to cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, power supplies, storage and network connectivity.
Conduct site surveys and prepare CCTV installation requirements, BOQ and technical documentation.
2. Networking
Installation and configuration of LAN/WAN networks for CCTV and security systems.
Configure and troubleshoot managed/unmanaged switches, PoE switches, routers, VLANs, IP addressing and network connectivity.
Understand TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, subnetting and basic routing concepts.
Troubleshoot bandwidth, packet loss, connectivity and communication issues between IP cameras and servers/NVRs.
Configure network infrastructure for large-scale IP surveillance deployments.
3. Fibre Optic Cable
Installation, termination, splicing and testing of fibre-optic cables.
Knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fibre, ODF, LIU, patch panels, SFP modules and fibre accessories.
Use OTDR, optical power meter, VFL and fibre testing equipment for fault identification and link testing.
Troubleshoot fibre breaks, attenuation, loss and connectivity problems.
Maintain fibre routes, termination records and test reports.
4. Hardware & Embedded Systems
Installation, testing and troubleshooting of electronic hardware and embedded systems.
Diagnose hardware faults involving power supplies, controllers, communication interfaces, sensors and electronic modules.
Basic understanding of microcontrollers, embedded devices, RS-232/RS-485, UART, USB, Ethernet and other communication interfaces.
Interface and integrate embedded/electronic security devices with IP networks and central monitoring systems.
Perform hardware-level troubleshooting and coordinate with vendors/OEMs for advanced technical issues.
5. Security & Access-Control Equipment
Hands-on installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of systems such as:
HHMD – Hand Held Metal Detector
DFMD – Door Frame Metal Detector
Access Control Systems
Biometric Devices
RFID/Card Readers
Boom Barriers and Gates
Video Door Phones
Intercom Systems
Security Alarm Systems
Sensors and other electronic security equipment
6. Project Execution
Execute complete projects from site survey through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
Prepare project schedules, manpower requirements, material requirements and installation plans.
Coordinate with project managers, customers, consultants, contractors, electricians and networking teams.
Supervise technicians and subcontractors at project sites.
Ensure installation is completed according to approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Conduct testing and commissioning and prepare snag lists and closure reports.
Prepare as-built drawings, test reports, commissioning reports, material records and handover documents.
Provide technical support during project execution and after-sales/service activities.
Technical Skills Required
Strong knowledge of IP CCTV and surveillance systems.
Good understanding of networking and TCP/IP fundamentals.
Experience with NVR/VMS and IP camera configuration.
Knowledge of PoE and network infrastructure.
Fibre-optic installation, splicing and testing knowledge.
Ability to use OTDR and fibre-testing equipment.
Basic knowledge of embedded electronics and hardware troubleshooting.
Knowledge of HHMD, DFMD and electronic security systems.
Ability to read electrical/networking diagrams and technical drawings.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD or similar technical documentation tools will be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Networking, Instrumentation or a related field.
Certifications in CCTV, Networking, Fibre Optics, CCNA or security systems will be an advantage.
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites will be preferred.
