Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Support / Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and support for end users across operating systems, hardware, networking, Office 365, security, and VPN-related issues. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a structured approach to incident resolution, and the ability to handle issues remotely and onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Operating System & Hardware Support
Troubleshoot performance issues on Windows 10/11 systems.
Diagnose and resolve OS-level problems, application crashes, and system slowness.
Use Task Manager and system tools to identify high resource usage.
Perform system updates, malware scans, and cleanup activities.
Manage startup applications and ensure system optimization.
Networking & Connectivity
Troubleshoot internet connectivity issues for end users.
Check physical connections, IP configuration, gateway, TCP \IP,DHCP, and DNS settings.
Perform basic network diagnostics such as ping and traceroute.
Identify issues related to switches, routers, and local network profiles.
Coordinate with network teams or ISPs when required.
Office 365 & Outlook Support
Troubleshoot Outlook issues related to sending and receiving emails.
Check mailbox size, Outlook profiles, and cached mode settings.
Verify server and account configuration for Office 365.
Assist users with email configuration and synchronization issues.
Security & Antivirus
Ensure endpoint protection and antivirus solutions are functioning properly.
Verify antivirus status, updates, and policy compliance.
Perform system scans and respond
Active Directory (AD) is a directory service that manages users, computers, groups, and resources in a domain network.
Group Policy (GPO) is a feature of AD used to apply rules, settings, and security policies to users and computers (like password policy, USB block, software installation).
Windows Slowness Issue
Steps:
• Check Task Manager → CPU, RAM, Disk usage
• Disable startup programs
• Scan for virus/malware
• Check disk space & health
• Update Windows & drivers
• Check background services
• OST (Offline Storage Table):
