Job Description

The Role:We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Website Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both the aesthetic design and the practical implementation of functional and responsive websites. This role requires a strong eye for design, proficiency in modern design tools, and the technical ability to bring designs to life using WordPress, along with foundational knowledge of PHP for customization and development.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.Translate wireframes and design mockups into functional WordPress themes and custom templates.Customize, configure, and manage WordPress installations, including themes, plugins, and core files.Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet their business goals.Ensure all website designs are optimized for speed, scalability, and SEO best practices.Perform front-end development tasks using HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript/jQuery.Utilize basic PHP knowledge to modify and extend WordPress functionality (e.g., custom post types, theme functions, plugin modifications).Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and technical problems.Stay up-to-date with the latest web design trends, technologies, and WordPress ecosystem updates.Required Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience as a Web Designer, Web Developer, or similar role.Expert proficiency with WordPress (installation, configuration, theme customization, and maintenance).Solid understanding of modern web design principles (layout, typography, color theory, UX/UI).Proficiency in front-end development languages: HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript/jQuery.Foundational knowledge of PHP and experience with its application within the WordPress environment.Experience with design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, or similar.Strong portfolio showcasing diverse website design and development projects.Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Bonus Points:Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce).Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).Experience with popular WordPress page builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi).
