They develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, corporate reports, and other forms of visual communications.
Their main duties and responsibilities include:
Designing graphic content, illustrations, and infographics
Managing graphic designs from conception to delivery
Reviewing junior designer drafts to ensure quality
Generating fresh concepts
Ensuring visual communication and brand standards are met
Working closely with art director, marketing, and content teams to ensure a cohesive visual brand
Understanding and translating marketing and branding needs into design strategy
Using graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media
Collaborating with team members to launch designs
Taking on special design tasks to support multiple projects (e.g. color correction)
Incorporating changes recommended by clients or team members into final designs
Reviewing designs for errors before printing or publishing
Staying up-to-date on industry trends
