Mechanical designer

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer with 8+ years of experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design and industrial automation. The candidate should be capable of independently designing machines from concept to manufacturing and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop SPMs, automation machines, fixtures, tooling, and machine assemblies.

• Create detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.

• Design mechanisms including linear slides, indexing systems, clamping, feeding, and pick-and-place systems.

• Select and integrate bearings, shafts, gears, guideways, ball screws, pneumatic cylinders, motors, and other mechanical components.

• Design machine frames, guards, fixtures, and tooling.

• Apply GD&T, fits, tolerances, and DFM/DFA principles.

• Coordinate with electrical, production, assembly, and commissioning teams.

• Troubleshoot and modify designs during machine assembly, testing, and commissioning.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of relevant SPM/Automation Machine Design experience.

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo / Inventor.

• Good knowledge of machine mechanisms, pneumatics, hydraulics, jigs & fixtures, and manufacturing processes.

• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerances, material selection, and machine component selection.

• Ability to independently handle projects from concept → design → manufacturing → assembly.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design.

Preferred: Candidates with hands-on experience designing machining SPMs, assembly SPMs, robotic automation, indexing machines, or customized industrial automation systems.

Salary

₹50,000 – ₹95,000 per month, based on experience and technical expertise.
