1. Core Role Overview
A Graphic Designer in a branding agency is responsible for creating visually strong, meaningful, and brand-aligned designs across print, digital, and packaging. The role requires creativity, speed, attention to detail, and strong research ability before starting any design.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Design Research & Concept Development
Conduct detailed design research before starting any project.
Study competitor brands
Understand industry trends
Analyze target audience behavior
Review colors, styles, typography used in similar brands
Gather visual references, mood boards, and brand inspirations.
Understand project briefs clearly and brainstorm creative direction.
Participate in team ideation and concept discussions.
B. Branding & Visual Design
Create logos, brand identities, brand guidelines, typography systems, and color palettes.
Develop brand collateral: stationery, brochures, posters, banners, social media creatives.
Design packaging concepts, mockups, product labels, and 3D visualization support (when needed).
Ensure all designs follow brand personality, tone, and consistency.
Prepare multiple concepts for client presentations.
C. Software Skills
Must have expert-level proficiency in:
Adobe Photoshop
Editing, retouching, manipulation
Visual composition & color correction
Adobe Illustrator
Logo design
Vector illustrations
Packaging & layout design
Good to have / Additional tools:
Adobe InDesign
Figma / XD (for UI or layout work)
Basic understanding of After Effects / Premiere Pro (simple motion edits)
Knowledge of 3D mockups (Dimension / Blender / online mockup tools)
D. Creative & Agency Mindset
Ability to think fresh, innovative, and out-of-the-box for diverse brands.
Comfort in working on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Ability to take constructive feedback positively and revise quickly.
Should stay updated with design trends, global brand styles, and creative techniques.
Strong sense of brand storytelling and visual communication.
E. Production & Execution Tasks
Prepare print-ready files with bleed, margin, color profiles.
Export digital graphics in accurate sizes and formats for social media, ads, websites.
Create mockups for client presentation.
Organize final files properly (naming, folders, source files).
F. Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with creative directors, copywriters, marketing team, and brand managers.
Participate in client meetings if required.
Communicate design ideas clearly through sketches or quick drafts.
Update team on project progress and timelines.
G. Additional Responsibilities
Maintain a structured and updated design library (fonts, mockups, references).
Support in pitch decks and internal presentations.
Able to replicate or adapt design styles based on brand requirements.
Help maintain brand quality across all touchpoints.
