List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished to fulfill the purpose of the position.
1.Perform new product design and design modifications using Creo, while maintaining structured CAD data and design databases.
2. Create detailed assembly and component drawings for prototype and production release.
3. Conduct competitor benchmarking to identify design, performance, cost, and manufacturability improvement opportunities.
4. Generate concepts for hydraulic product components, sub-systems, and assemblies, and convert approved concepts into 3D CAD models.
5. Perform engineering calculations, basic design analysis, GD&T allocation, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
6. Maintain complete project documentation, including project plans, design review documents, calculation sheets, drawings, and test records.
7. Prepare test plans and support physical product testing in coordination with test technicians.
8. Perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
9. Support robust and predictable product designs using Six Sigma / DFSS tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management, and DVPR for new product development and product improvement projects.
10. Provide technical support to internal departments, suppliers, and customers on product design, application, testing, and quality-related matters.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 6-10 years of engineering/product design experience in relevant domain
• Conducts basic design calculations such as force, torque, pressure, bending stress, shear stress, and factor of safety
• Awareness of DFSS tools like FMEA.FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis etc.
• Root Cause Analysis, 8D methodology awareness
• Awareness of engineering standards like ASME / ISO related to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T), Stack Up analysis, checklists, etc
• Familiar with Engineering change management process

• Exposure to computational methods (FEM, CFD, MatLAB, etc)
