Job Title: Sr. Design Engineer – Sheet Metal

Location: Chakan MIDC, Pune

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer with experience in Sheet Metal Design to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA or SolidWorks, and experience in designing components for CNC punching, bending, and fabrication processes.

This role involves creating accurate design drawings, developing 3D models, and working closely with the production team to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications

Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD

Perform part nesting for optimal material utilization

Create CNC punching programs using CNC KAD software

Develop 3D models and assemblies using CATIA or SolidWorks

Design sheet metal components for punching, bending, and fabrication

Coordinate with production teams and CNC operators to ensure design feasibility

Modify designs based on shop-floor feedback and production requirements

Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation

Support prototype development and new product design

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD for drafting and nesting

Experience in 3D sheet metal modeling using CATIA or SolidWorks

Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes (punching, bending, welding, powder coating)

Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings

Basic knowledge or willingness to learn CNC KAD software

Qualification

Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
