Key Responsibilities
Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) for industrial automation.
Design robotic workstations, EOATs (End-of-Arm Tooling), welding cells, and material handling systems.
Design welding fixtures, checking fixtures, assembly fixtures, and production jigs.
Develop BIW (Body-in-White) welding fixtures and robotic tooling.
Prepare complete 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T implementation.
Select mechanical components including linear guides, actuators, cylinders, bearings, gearboxes, servo systems, and standard purchased parts.
Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings.
Coordinate with manufacturing, electrical, PLC, robot programming, and installation teams.
Participate in design reviews, customer discussions, and technical presentations.
Support machine assembly, commissioning, and troubleshooting during project execution.
Ensure designs comply with customer standards, safety requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of machine design fundamentals.
Experience in designing SPMs and industrial automation systems.
Expertise in Jig & Fixture Design.
Experience in BIW Welding Fixtures.
Knowledge of Robotic Automation Cell Design.
Pneumatic and hydraulic system design knowledge.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and standard engineering practices.
Familiarity with industrial standards and safety design principles.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
