Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and performance-driven Medical Representative for our Chronic Disease Division. The candidate must have strong working experience with Diabetologists, MD Medicine Physicians, Consultant Physicians, and high-potential General Physicians.
The role requires a candidate who understands chronic prescription generation, repeat prescription business, doctor conversion, patient continuity, chemist follow-up, and monthly sales achievement. The ideal candidate should have already worked with products related to diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetic neuropathy, and cardio-renal-metabolic care.
This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for a mature MR who can build long-term doctor relationships, manage chronic brands responsibly, and generate sustainable prescription-based business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Doctor Coverage & Prescription Generation
Visit assigned doctors as per daily call plan.
Focus on Diabetologists, MD Medicine Physicians, Consultant Physicians, and selected high-value General Physicians.
Promote chronic disease products with proper scientific communication.
Generate regular prescriptions from targeted doctors.
Build long-term doctor loyalty for company brands.
Identify high-potential doctors and convert them into regular prescribers.
2. Chronic Product Promotion
Candidate should be comfortable promoting products in:
Diabetes management
SGLT2 inhibitors
DPP4 inhibitors
Glimepiride + Metformin combinations
Hypertension therapy
Telmisartan / Amlodipine combinations
Rosuvastatin and lipid management
Diabetic neuropathy supplements
Cardio-renal-metabolic protection concepts
The candidate should be able to explain the clinical relevance of products, not just show visual aids.
3. Relationship Management
Maintain strong professional relationships with doctors.
Understand each doctor’s prescribing habit.
Identify which molecules each doctor prefers.
Build confidence in company quality, product availability, and service.
Coordinate with attached chemists and in-house pharmacies for prescription conversion.
Follow up regularly on prescription movement.
4. Chemist & Stockist Coordination
Ensure availability of promoted products at key chemists.
Monitor prescription conversion at attached chemists.
Take chemist feedback on prescriptions, stock movement, and patient demand.
Coordinate with stockists/distributors for smooth supply.
Avoid stock-outs in important doctor-linked chemists.
5. Territory Development
Develop assigned territory doctor-wise, chemist-wise, and product-wise.
Identify new doctors for chronic business development.
Build a strong doctor list with classification such as A, B, and C category.
Track competitor activity in diabetes, BP, lipid, and neuropathy segments.
Plan territory work in a disciplined and result-oriented manner.
6. Sales Target Achievement
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets.
Focus on both primary and secondary sales.
Improve prescription base month by month.
Generate repeat business from chronic patients.
Maintain brand-wise sales growth.
Report business gaps and action plans to the manager.

Candidate must maintain proper daily reporting, including:

8. Product Knowledge
Maintain strong product knowledge.
Understand basic disease concepts in diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, kidney risk, heart risk, and diabetic neuropathy.
Be able to answer basic doctor queries confidently.
Attend product training and sales meetings regularly.
Candidate Requirements
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum 5 years of MR experience in pharmaceutical sales.
Prior experience with Diabetologists and MD Medicine Physicians is required.
Candidate should have experience in chronic therapy or cardio-diabetic therapy.
Candidate should preferably be 30 years or above.
Strong doctor relationships in the assigned territory.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to generate prescriptions, not only collect orders.
Good chemist and stockist follow-up ability.
Should be target-oriented and disciplined.
